Mountain home architects design,
built by Cabin Creek Timber Frames in authentic handcrafted
timber frame construction. |
Cabin Creek
Timber Frames is delighted to announce that Joe Bell is a
designated lecturer for continuing architectural education
credits under the aegis of The AIA and the Timber Frame
Business Council.
We can arrange for
architects to earn 2 credit hours of continuing education
through a presentation accredited by the AIA. This
lecture/discussion is presented under the joint auspices of
the AIA and the TFBC.
The lecture presents the
fundamentals of designing and building timber frame
structures, the benefits to the homeowner and the community
at large, and a section on the use of SIPs, or structural
insulated panel systems. There is an overall look at large
timber construction using mortise and tenon joinery, timber
frame techniques, general guidelines for design and
dimensions in repeating structures, large timber wood
behavior, and more. Questions are welcomed.
Please
contact us to arrange a presentation. |

Welcome to
Cabin Creek Timber Frames
 |
| Cabin Creek Timber Frames, Inc., is
located in the mountains of North Carolina,
(southeastern United States). We often work with
mountain home architects designing hand crafted timber
frame homes, timber frame great rooms, and timber frame
additions. Each timber frame structure is designed in
house by Cabin Creeks in-house design staff. The
mountian home design may be part of a mountain home
architect's project or a separate, independent, in-house
design. They utilize the latest in CAD (computer
assisted design ) technology. Whether your home is an
architect project or an in-house design, each timber
frame is handcrafted by Cabin Creeks experienced
timber framers in our beamery here in Franklin, NC.

After the timber frame is trial
assembled, it is prepared for transport to your site.
The timber frame is then shipped to your site where it
will be reassembled and raised by the timber framers who
hand crafted it.* Hopefully you will chose to have the
timber frame enclosed with structural insulated panels
(SIPS). These panels have a very high energy efficiency
rating and provide an enclosed envelope for your timber
frame structure. The SIPS we normally use have the
window and door openings precut in the factory.* Having
these precut in the factory helps keep the jobsite neat
and clean and decreases the amount of time it takes to
apply the panels to the timber frame.
Once
we have crafted, trial assembled, raised, and enclosed
your timber frame with SIPS**, it is then ready for you,
your builder, or contractor to finish. |
